I can write sharp copy, from opinion pieces, long-form features, interviews, and more. My experience with interviewing anyone from labourers through to CEOs of global organisations demonstrates my ease with a variety of individuals from all walks of life. I have written across hospitality & F&B industries, interior design and architecture titles, construction brands, as well as consumer – all topics are of interest. However, as a specialist in the hospitality industry, I have built up an enviable contact book in this sector so if you need someone who understands the industry, knows people that work in it, and write engaging copy about the business of running hotels and restaurants, interviewing hotel operators about a new acquisition, or asking a chef about his supply chain – I am your person.
My offering also extends towards editing, whether it’s sub-editing copy through to project managing entire print publications, or updating websites. After many years of managing a publication’s lifecycle from start to finish, I can manage one-off editorial projects and also adapt quickly to style guides. I am quick, have a sharp eye for detail, and a flair for spotting errors on page and correcting them quickly. I can also carry out basic video editing should that be the order of the day.

A major part of my professional career has included being an emcee, conference chairperson, and moderator – not just for my own events, but for a wide-ranging number of industry forums. Some events I have emcee’d or moderated panels for include: The Hotelier Middle East: Great GM Debate, the Caterer Middle East: Food & Business Forum, To The Table MEA, The Hotel Show, Arabian Travel Market, and more. I research heavily prior to any event, and have confidently interviewed personalities live on-stage including the likes of: chef Virgilio Martinez, chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten, chef Gary Rhodes, Edition Hotels’ Dan Flannery, hotelier & philanthropist Gordon Campbell Gray, World Tourism & Travel Council’s Gerald Lawless, and many more.
Podcasts & Radio
Podcasting is an art form – from hosting to script writing, not counting managing the recording on-site. I employ my interviewing and public speaking skills in both a recorded and live format to be an engaging host. I’ve had experience with recording in a studio through to on-site – from recording a podcast in a live kitchen through to recording while touring a mushroom farm, I’ve done it all. Media Relations & Copywriting
Having been a journalist for a decade, I understand what it is we are looking for when it comes to press releases and pitches. As a business, are you having trouble getting your story told? No problem – I can tell you how to find a story worth sharing, what you need to spice up your copy, and how to tell a good story. Ones that journalists can’t afford to ignore. I’m also an effective copywriter and have worked towards building my skillset in this area. I can work on campaigns or even write menu pages for restaurants – I’ve done it all!
Social media, of course, is an important element of today’s media landscape. My experience spans digital and social media, and I have built up a loyal following on various platforms. When I joined Caterer Middle East in 2013, I revived the then-ignored Twitter account for the brand, and boosted the follower count from under 100 to more than 3,000 – and this is still growing. I understand what platforms businesses need to target, and how to post effectively. My own social media pages are active, especially Instagram and Tik Tok, where I enjoy posting regular updates and using the medium as a tool for conversations as well as research.
